Diggin’ for the Doggies!

It’s begun!
Early construction activities at Railyard Dogs Dog Park are underway. Belair Excavation began the soil removal of the park yesterday, and will take a few days. Once we are at the low level of the soil removal, Encore Electric will begin to distribute the electrical service and the concrete support bases for the light poles will be installed (there are seven of them). Then, Belair Excavation will begin to bring the soil elevation back up to grade. The mix of new soil will be common fill for outside the dog play area and the dog play area will be a sand/light gravel mix. In the later part of this month irrigation and concrete curbs, edging and supports will be installed.
We are still fund raising for Railyard Dogs so please visit http://www.RailyardDogs.org to help contribute to this exciting addition to Riverfront Park!

I’m taking care of some family’s dogs for the week, but I only own one dog. My dog always seems very aggressive towards other dogs, but they seem to be getting along alright. My dog is always trying to lick under the chin of one of the other dogs, and that dog doesn’t seem to like it much. Is that some type of communication, and if yes, what does it mean?
