Growth, During the Great Recession?
Yep. From today’s Denver Post:
“Denver’s population spurt accelerated last year as it became the Front Range’s growth-rate leader for the first time in decades and one of the five fastest-growing major counties in the nation."
But, why? If you’re already a Riverfront resident, the answer won’t surprise you:
Mark Muro , director of policy at the Brookings Institution’s Metropolitan Policy Program, said Denver’s growth is in the forefront of a return to urban centers in the U.S. “I think one of the major themes from the post-housing- crash has been a retrenchment of population into urban cities,” Muro said. Residents want to live closer to where they work, he said.
