We’re so excited. The new Union Gateway Bridge (formerly the 18th Street Pedestrian Bridge) is open! It’s incredibly cool. Take the time to walk over there. The key moment? Riding down the glass elevator on the Union Station side of the bridge. The second cool part? Watching construction at Union Station. Really, an amazing view that none of us have ever seen before. For a few details on the bridge, click on through. Hi, you clicked through. So, the bridge cost about $4.4 million and was built by Edward Kraemer and Sons, engineered by 68 West, designed by OZ Architecture, and paid for by the Central Platte Valley Metropolitan District. The District, really, is the property owners in Riverfront Park. Pretty cool. I think you could say, it’s a bridge to the future. And, finally, we’d be remiss if we didn’t thank the multi-talented Matt Mahoney who spearheaded the whole project on behalf of the District. http://blog.riverfrontpark.com/index.php/1110/
