The work never stops at Union Station. But, the work is almost ready to begin on the lines out to DIA. The good folks at RTD heard the final presentations from two groups vying to be the authority’s private partner on the development of two of the most important additions to the transit network coming via FasTracks. Now, while the newspapers are sort of hung up on whether or not the tracks will have single lines, the important story is the simple fact that progress is being made. Both groups’ proposals would complete their work in 2016. That’s just not that far away. Anyway, back to the construction. Rick hits on three big highlights: Kiewit’s building a second mountain in the new Union Station Mountain Range, they’re driving supports into the ground, and they created a new work surface. It sounds boring, but it looks gorgeous. And here’s your click through prize: http://blog.riverfrontpark.com/index.php/1151/
