I sat down with the contractor of the Millennium Bridge and soon-to-be 18th Street Bridge about a month ago to get the low-down on the new pedestrian bridge between the Glass House and the Manhattan. The 18th Street Bridge is under way… Right now, you can see the beginnings of two four-story elevator shafts on either side of the tracks. Those will only gain more detail until the bridge arrives this summer. The bridge itself arrives in three pieces. All driven along the windy, mountain roads of I-70. Once it lands in Riverfront Park, workers will assemble the bridge by day and erect the bridge by night. Plan to see a roadway connecting downtown to Riverfront Park in October 2009 with a final completion date of November 2009. If you have more questions about the 18th Street Bridge, please feel free to post them. I’ll answer them as best I can. http://blog.riverfrontpark.com/index.php/856/
