Glass House Health Club |
|
|
Glass House residents will have every reason to get into fabulous shape starting in the Spring of 2007. The new Riverfront Athletic Club will be relocating to a 6,500 square foot space in Glass House, and as of this writing, it will be exclusive to Riverfront Park residents.
The big change will be the transition from the facility being primarily a personal training center to a full service health club including, but not limited to, group fitness classes, personal training, and massage.
The main level of the club will be primarily for cardio activities and will include two studios for classes such as yoga, Pilates, cycling, and the like. "While we are still in the early stages of design, we do expect to have treadmills, elliptical machines, stationary bikes, fit balls, and a variety of strength training and stretching equipment. The second floor will also have some additional cardio equipment, as well as areas for free weights and stretching,” notes Amy Fuller, CFO of East West Partners-Denver, developers of Riverfront Park.
"We are currently looking at equipment with integral televisions so that each person can watch what they want versus having to share televisions with others. And we plan to provide solid class programming at key points during the day," Fuller continues.
"The design will be playful, but edgy, with a careful balance toward not being too trendy. We want it to be a contemporary environment, but comfortable, with a good use of natural materials to keep the space warm and inviting," suggests Fuller. Two stories of glass will encase the health club allowing for an abundance of natural light and views of Commons Park.
Nicely appointed male and female locker rooms will have showers and lockers. Two massage rooms, run by Back in Shape, already operating in Riverfront Park, will be onsite to ease weary muscles and tired constitutions.
The health club membership fee is included in HOA dues for Glass House residents. The 8th story outdoor pool will be reserved for the exclusive use of Glass House residents. Other Riverfront Park residents are invited to join the health club for fee.

McLoughlin's – A Neighborhood Favorite |
|
|
McLoughlin's is a lot of things to a lot of people: casual restaurant, place to watch the game, local watering hole. But, more than anything, McLoughlin's is a great place to relax with friends over a pint and catch up with neighbors. And though we're smack dab in the middle of Winter, the tug toward the fulfillment of a cold drink on a hot day on the McLoughlin's patio is, well, blissful.
Glass House will only be a couple hundred steps to McLoughlin's. And as a new resident said as he was standing in The Plaza orienting his friend to the neighborhood, "I live right there, I get my coffee right there, I get my wine there, I can get a very nice dinner right there, and my hangout is right there.” Of course, he was referring to Ink Café, Little Raven Vineyards, Zengo, and McLoughlin's.
In addition to a solid selection of beer, wine, and Irish whiskey, the McLoughlin's menu features a few favorites, such as the tomato and artichoke soup, scrumptious gumbo, hearty burgers, an ahi tuna sandwich, and of course, a very respectable plate of fish and chips.
"It's so nice to have a neighborhood place down here. I love having my friends meet me there and at the same time I like being able to bump into my neighbors and catch up,” notes Riverfront Park resident Caroline Ellett. "It's perfect place to wind down after work, or easy place to grab a drink before we walk to the game.”
McLoughlin's is owned by Jim and Frank McLoughlin, brothers originally from Dublin, who also own the famed Colfax favorite, the Irish Snug.
